Popular showbiz maniac and former SoundCity VJ Denrenle Edun, was robbed in traffic on Friday, April 6, 2011 at about 9PM.
Denrenle who was coming back from Swagger Island (a resort located at the outskirts of Lagos) where he appeared as a guest in the on-going ‘Who’s Got Swag’ reality show was heading to CLUB 10, the popular night club owned by Jay Jay Okocha to celebrate with singer May7ven’s birthday, when gunmen attacked the vehicle he was in.
As narrated by Denrenle himself through his twitter account, the gunmen jumped into the backseat of the vehicle where he and two other people were seated and flashed dangerous weapons at them, demanding they gave up their belongings.
After much threat that almost made the armed robbers break the windshield, the gunmen carted away five Blackberry phones, a ‘Beats by Dre’ headphones, a Nokia mobile phone, Denrenle’s Alexander McQueen coffin shaped bag, and even tried to pull his punk rock boots off his legs!
The robbery incident took place at the Anthony area of Maryland, Lagos.
