Donald Trump has been very vocal about his lack of faith in the American electoral system, saying how much he believes that the media and US government are colluding with Hillary Clinton to unfairly defeat him.
At the final presidential debate early this morning, he also accused the Emmy Awards of being rigged as the moderator asked him if he would accept the result of the election in the event that he lost.
His opponent, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, brought up his nature of refusing to accept other losses, like the Emmy Awards which his television show The Apprentice has never won.
‘There was even a time when he didn’t get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he started tweeting the Emmys were rigged against him,’ she said. Trump interrupted her, saying, ‘Should’ve gotten it.’
The awards organisation, which is the television version of the the Oscars, and has awarded shows like Games of Thrones, Mad Men and How To Get Away With Murder, quickly debunked the allegation on Twitter.
Rest assured, the #Emmys are not rigged. https://t.co/vKK5xjqBuy pic.twitter.com/B7dBpGY1uQ
