For the next six weeks, the Abuja International Airport will remain closed as repair works are done on the runaway.
However, the Glasgow Airport in Scotland is showing how things are done in saner climes as the entire runway was replaced without shutting down the airport or disrupting flights.
According to the BBC, reconstruction works have been ongoing since November 2016 and only just got wrapped up recently.
During the time, repairs were done mainly at night and ended at 6 a.m. each day, with most passengers unaware.
Over 200 people worked on replacing the asphalt surface with a more technological advanced runway in the airport which handles over 100,000 flights every year.
Meanwhile, the Abuja International Airport, which handles only a fraction of that figure in aircraft movements annually, had to be totally closed down with operations relocated to Kaduna airport, more than 160km away.

We can do better guys.
