African pop icon D’banj has joined the select list of Nigerian celebrities who have had their Twitter accounts verified.
D’banj’s account which has over 200,000 (two hundred thousand) followers received the blue verification logo today, Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
The Entertainer who’s ‘Oliver’ single is enjoying massive airplay in UK in a recent explosive interview with NET had hinted at the micro-blogging site ‘stepping his ranks up’. ‘I’m about to be verified on Twitter now’, he said.
D’banj in recent times has been a victim of social network hacking which spurred more controversy around his recent split with former Mo’Hits label owner Don Jazzy, an active Twitter user. The producer’s account is however yet to be verified.

When one shares His opinion about D’Banj, He’s called a hater by others so, I have just one question. Ιѕ D’banj a Singer or Rapper? I’m still trying to give him a place. To all of you who call people who share their opinions names, I just wonder why you do that… Everybody cαη’t like D’Banj so get this straight! My Question remains… Ιѕ he a singer or a rapper. I guess non of the above, however, you can prove me wrong if you wish.
Dbanj baba keep it up.
@Herby,ur question is the most senselss question ever?Is D’banj a singer or a rapper???How dumb!I’l answer u,he is a singer! If u think he can’t sing, pls do we D’banj’s fans a favour by listing who and who can sing in the Nigerian music industry???How many of them can actually sing?Whilst i appreciate Tuface’s vocals,Dare’s vocals,Wande Coal’s vocals and Banky W’s vocals,it still doesn’t mean others shld be condemned inclusive of D’banj.U don’t av to av excellent vocals to be able to sing!Music is relative and satisfies people in a trillion ways at different points in time.D’banj’s talent to me are more remarkable. He is an all round entertainer and u and ur likes shld realize that it takes a whole lot for someone to entertain someone. For him to be able to entertain despite the fact that u and some others think he can’t sing, then u shld be kind enough to acknowledge the fact that he’s a gifted entertainer.D’banj has an excellent sense of humour,a charismatic, infectious, electrifying and energetic stage presence that moves any unbiased crowd anytime T!He wld entertain any race, skin colour or tribe or whatever!Without even opening his mouth to sing(for those who think he can’t sing),he wld and can make use of the mouth organ otherwise known as the Harmonica to the tune of any song, admit it or not.His theatric gimmicks are particularly intriguing and exudes so much happiness and life in basically all his songs. All in one,i wld even give u a better answer as opposed to my initial answer…..D’banj is a great musician!U cannot be called a musician if u cannot play a musical instrument of which D’banj very much can…Then as far as lyrics are concerned,no 21st century Naija artist takes the lead as far as i am concerned.I expect that many wld prolly run D’banj down in terms of lyrics but i wld remind all of u that this same D’banj has sung so many excellent and meaningful songs in the past frm Mobolowowon,Loke Loke,Celebrate,Olorun Maje and a few others which have particularly inspired me and those who cared to listen to his actual wordings.Tuface is quite lyrically talented, anyone who disputes must be insincere and mean but he himself cannot be given an A or a B in some of his songs if u wld agree.Same goes for Wande Coal who prolly has the best vocal depth so far,pls tell me wots the lyrical depth of Wande Coal’s songs in some cases?.All in one, whether u agree or not, they all have areas in which they are better than themselves….God bless them all!
Koko master u’r 2 much jo……..love dbanj
