The popular MOBO Awards has released it’s nominees list for the 2011 edition of the awards and Nigerian acts, Pop star D’banj , Afro beat singer Seun Kuti and young new pop sensation Wizkid have been nominated in the ‘Best African Act‘ category.
The list which was revealed today Wednesday, August 31, 2011 via the awards website also sees other African acts like Liquid Deep, Cheikh Lo and Owiny Sigoma Band nominated in the ‘Best African act’ category.
In 2007, Nigerian pop act 2face Idibia clinched the award followed by 9ice in 2008 and Nneka in 2009, all in the same category.
The 16th edition of the Music of Black Origin MOBO awards will be held in Glasgow, Scotland on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 and will be hosted by Jason Derulo and a yet-to-be named female co-host.
