
Organisers of All Africa Music Awards unveiled the first batch of nominees on Friday, August 14, 2015 and already, the continent has been thrown into a frenzied mood over what to expect.
Some of the categories have also reawakened epic rivalries which is the focus of this piece.
Nigerian pop duo of Wizkid and Davido will be going head to head in 3 categories as the debate over who is better between them is again revisited. Both acts battled for the Best male category at the 2015 edition of MAMA which was won by Davido and again, they are set to go head to head in the upcoming continental awards.

They are up against one another for Best Male Artist (West Africa), Best Song (Ojuelegba and Fans Mi) and Artist of the Year.
Diamond Platnumz Vs Alikiba (Tanzania)
Diamond Platnumz and Alikiba are 2 of the biggest acts in Tanzania. The duo has also over the years been rumoured to be beefing one another although they continue to vehemently deny there’s no love lost between them. While Diamond Platnumz has taken his music across Africa and is arguably the most buzzing Tanzanian act, Alikiba also maintains a huge followership among music lovers in Tanzania and neighboring Kenya.

They will both be competing for the Best Male Artist (East Africa) at AFRIMA 2015.
Bucie Vs Busiswa (South Africa)
They are both beautiful, talented and from South Africa. They have over the years become successful, ranking among leading female acts in SA. Fans and pundits are divided on who is better; especially as they are constantly pitched against one another in awards and polls.

They were recently nominated against each other at the 2015 edition of MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Female. That prize was won by Nigeria’s Yemi Alade.

They have also been nominated in Best Female (Southern Africa) at AFRIMA 2015.
Seyi Shay Vs Yemi Alade (Nigeria):
It would seem that they used the opportunity of Tiwa Savage’s absence to cement their relationship with fans, but Seyi Shay and Yemi Alade are bonafide talents deserving of every accolades they get. Now sitting comfortably in the league of top lady acts in Nigeria at the moment, the pair have to live with regular ly being compared and contrasted.

They were up against each other at 2015 MAMA for Best Female in Africa with Yemi Alade carrying the day. They will now go head-to-head in the Best Female category for the upcoming AFRIMA.
