For the latest edition of Nigerian Idol, the three celebrity judges unveiled for the new season are Dede Mabiaku, Yinka Davies and Dare Art Alade, all of whom have featured as a judge at one time or the other in past editions.
Popular entertainment franchise owners, Optima Media Group and lead sponsor, Etisalat Nigeria recently unveiled Season 5 of the music TV reality show during a media launch held at MelaRossa in Ikoyi.
Speaking at the launch, Executive Director of Optima Media Group (OMG), owners of the Nigerian Idol franchise, Ugochi Pedro noted that the reality show has established its mark as a leading talent hunt platform providing needed opportunities for budding music stars to be discovered and nurtured to stardom.
‘For 5 years running, we have been on this interesting journey of changing lives and helping people achieve life dreams. The key thing for us is to see these discovered talents become the real stars they are designed to be. We are taking this commitment to a new level this season, and Nigerians can expect many exciting moments ahead,’ she said.
After the successful debut, which was won by Yeka Onka in 2010, Nigerian Idol has seen the emergence of Mercy Chinwo, Moses Adigwe and Zebili Evelyn (Evelle) through the years. It has also grown in popularity and followership on the basis of the unique platforms it offers to young Nigerians with exceptional music talent.
