The fifth edition of of the Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) is around the corner and organizers, Callivision Network have revealed the nominees for the 2011 edition.
R&B singers Darey and J’odie have received the highest nods. Both acts were nominated in the ‘Video Of The Year‘ and ‘Best Use Of Costumes‘ categories. Darey who released his ‘Double Dare‘ album this year was also nominated in ‘Best Afro Pop Video‘, ‘Best R&B Video categories while the former West African Idol singer received two extra nods in the ‘Best Indigenous Concept‘ and ‘Best High Life Video‘ categories.
Kennis Music’s Goldie and rapper Freestyle follow closely with three nominations while other acts like Omawumi, Sammie Okposo, Dipp, T.I.V and Tipsy have two nominations.
The awards show is scheduled to hold next month, November at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites.

I have been following the voting for quite some days with interest because it seems to be quite hard to be able to vote, i presume the site is IP dependant and will not let the same ip vote twice.
I was therefore rather surpised to see that Darey has had over 600 votes in each of his categories in two days. There must some some kind of fixing going on here.
This is a shame because it makes a mockery of what the country is trying to achieve.

their are some categories that are excluded.i believe their shuld be some kinda categories which the hottest nd promising naija artist should be up 2.e.g,ice prince,wizkid,olamide.they all shud be fixed up in some categories for nominations.i believe every body loves ice prince,wizkid being a super star,nd olamide also rapsodi..so i tink dey shud be on it also…peace.

i luv de fact dat Jodie was recongnise 4ha suspence filled poetic song (kuchi kuchi). lookin at de nominees carefully, one wil get to understand dat de award wasn’t really made for de already made big names. so wot de hell was DAREY doing dere, is he not ashame to be completin and winning wit upcomin. Wizkid, Olamide etc has offered something and we all know it. Anyway nice work de organising committee, it isn’t easy.
