The much publicized Calabar Jazz Festival held from Friday March 29-Sunday March 31, 2013.
Nigerian R&B King Darey and neo soul singer-songwriter Eric Benet were two performers who thrilled guests to a series of solo performances. Other performers included Jonathan Butler, Asa, Zaina, and Bez.
Meanwhile, highly publicized D’Angelo was missing from the festival. The popular US soul singer apparently cancelled his trip. Reasons for cancelling remain uncertain and festival organizers are yet to respond to NET email enquiries.
