Since 2012 when Damilola Kolajolu won, along with Seun Adebanjo and Nneka Chile in 2013 as well as Akinola Akinlade and Wickliffe Adewunmi Emmanuel in 2014, Cool FM has been taking Nigerian students to be part of the film festival, giving them the opportunity to enlarge the experience of the students when they interact with students from other countries.
This year, with over 600 entries, Chima Martins Agare of IMO state University, Senate Ewah George of Ahmadu Bello Way University Zaria, and Ayodeji Donaldlove Ogunleye of National Films Institute, Jos made the winners list, after being carefully selected by a team of industry experts including Emem Isong who produced two of the students films named ‘Honey Money Pot‘ and ‘Dead Alive’.
Chima Martins Agare wrote’ ‘Honey Money Pot‘ a tale of the consequences faced when students ignore their academics and moral values and get engaged with promiscuous behavior.
Senate Ewah George Wrote ‘My Name is Amina’, a story of what goes through a suicide bomber’s mind minutes before the self-condemnation by bombing.
Ayodeji Donaldlove Ogunleye wrote ‘Dead Alive’, a story of a confused girl who, after being sexually abused by Family members, turned to drugs, alcohol and violence.
