Yesterday, Monday, November 7, 2011 Dr Conrad Murray was pronounced guilty for the involuntary manslaughter of the late pop king Michael Jackson, the jury reached a verdict after nine hours of deliberating.
Presiding Judge Michael E. Pastor ordered that Murray would not be put on bail and should be reprimanded to the L.A County jail where he would be till he receives his sentencing on Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
‘The public should be protected’, Pastor told an emotionless looking Murray in court. Murray faces up to four years behind bars.
‘We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn’t hold back tears of joy in the courtroom. Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served’, a statement released by Michael’s parents Katherine and Joe Jackson read.
‘Today’s verdict of guilty is confirmation that the combined efforts of our investigators, criminalists, Coroner investigators and the District Attorney’s Office were sound’, a rep from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said.
The Houston-based doctor was hired to be Jackson’s personal physician in preparation of the legendary King of Pop’s comeback concerts.
