On Monday (April 16), American rapper J. Cole announced via his Twitter account that he’ll be releasing a new album this Friday (April 20).
Keeping his message short and sweet, Cole wrote, “New album. KOD 4/20.” Less than 24 hours, the tweet had been retweeted over 300,000 times an favorited another 200,000 or so times. Needless to say, his fans are already out in full force.
Cole’s newest project will mark his first release since 2016’s 4 Your Eyez Only. While details regarding the project are incredibly scarce, a number of fans claim to have been present at Gramercy Theatre early today where he had a surprise event and heard the entire project in one sitting.
The K.O.D has three speculative subtitles: King Overdose, Kill Our Dreams and Kids on Drugs. It reportedly has 10-12 songs, and based on tweets from listeners of the project, there are no features.
