CNN’s chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour has made a return to the popular cable network with her new show ‘Amanpour’.
The new show according to CNN which will debut yesterday will air on CNN International at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST and during primetime in the UK and Western Europe.
‘I took an incredible opportunity…to join one of the major Sunday morning broadcasts on a broadcast network, which is still an area of real estate in the broadcast landscape that is devoted to serious news’, Amanpour told a group of journalists last week.
Amanpour, a well celebrated and seasoned journalist worked with CNN for 27 years before announcing her departure in March 2011 for ABC News where she anchored ‘This Week’, the Sunday morning political affairs program.
The 54-year-old mother-of-one surprised all when she quit her job at ABC in January 2012 and returned to CNN.
