
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie looked super elegant as she accepted her Mary McCarthy award in Bard College, New York.
The author is the first Nigerian to receive the prestigious award as a result of her literary prowess as well as impact and presence in public.


The award includes a cash award, publication of a collection of short stories, standard royalty contract and a short novel or novella.
Adichie’s written critically acclaimed novels such as Purple Hibiscus, Americanah, Half of a Yellow Sun, amongst others.
