The body of Cheick Tiote has arrived his country, Ivory Coast from Beijing where he passed away.
Ivory Coast players, including former Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, were among the pallbearers carrying the midfielder’s coffin when it arrived at Port Bouet airport in Abidjan.
Tiote’s fans, families, colleagues, Kolo Toure and Gervinho, and former Ivory Coast national team coach, Herve Renard were also at the airport to receive his body on Thursday, June 15.
The 30-year-old Ivorian midfielder died on Monday, June 5 after suffering a cardiac arrest during training at his Chinese club, Beijing Enterprises.
A memorial service held in Beijing on Tuesday and the ceremony was attended by family, friends and his former team-mate, Papiss Cisse, who also plays in China.
