For the second year in a row, American rapper Cardi B has been named the Most Popular Foreign Celebrity (Female) in Nigeria!
NET Honours recognises achievers in the entertainment industry through a thorough analysis of audience search results, social media interactions and trends, taking into account the year in review.
In the past 12 months, Cardi has been making waves on the local American scene and internationally. Her two singles, ‘UP’ and ‘WAP’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making Cardi B the female rapper with the most number-one songs (5) on the Hot 100. The rapper partnered with global sporting goods company Reebok to launch a collection of custom-designed sneakers. The Grammy-Award winning rapper is also set to join the cast of the Fast and Furious franchise for their ninth film, ‘F9’.
For the 2021 edition of NET Honours, she was nominated alongside award-winning Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj, Grammy-award-winning American singer Beyonce, Barbadian singer Rihanna, American singer Becky G and American socialite and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian. Last year, Cardi B faced these great women but also took it home.
The NET Honours People’s Choice Awards are based on engagement from over 8 million internet users reached across websites, social media and related channels of Netng, Neusroom, 234Star and Orin between June 2020 and May 2021.
