The Burial arrangements for the late Vanguard entertainment editor Amadi Ogbonna have been announced.
On October 12, 2012, the late writer will be buried in Okagwe, Ohafia, Abia state, his hometown but before then, a candle light ceremony has been fixed for Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the popular Ojez Bar inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
A trust fund ‘Friends of Amadi’ has also been opened by the late editor’s colleagues for the sole purpose of supporting the family he left behind – a wife and three children. Everybody is implored to contribute any amount to support them.
The family have also received support from Silverbird Chairman Ben Bruce who has offered a scholarship to one of the deceased’s children, Ben.
Ogbonna passed away on August 29, 2012.
UPDATE
There will be an October 8 Wake-keep ceremony for the late Amadi at the Redeemed Church situated close to his residence at 11, Aganga Williams off Haruna Street, College Road, Ogba. Time: 5-7PM.
