The Grammy Stage hosts iconic performances annually, and this year, Burna Boy brought it.
For his first Grammy performance, Burna Boy opened with the song, ‘Level Up’, then performed a medley of ‘Onyeka’ and ‘Ye’. Earlier in the night, Burna Boy was announced the winner of the Best Global Music Album for his album, Twice As Tall.
You could see the joy on Burna Boy’s face as he performed because he had sealed his position as the first Nigerian artiste to win a Grammy. In the same category, Grammy nominees Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar, and Grammy Award-winner Tinariwen were also vying for the award.
For his performance, he wore Dior, and he was styled by his sister, Ronami Ogulu. Once again, the African Giant proves that he is who he says he is, not just in name, but in artistry too.
