As I played ‘Duro’ by Brymo today, my face lit up instantly, I haven’t heard anything local that beautiful in weeks, it felt like I was the reason why that song was made; A feat only the likes of Asa, Jesse Jagz, 2face and Beautiful Nubia can attain.
I don’t know what you call music, really I don’t but I know what I call music, Music is an experience, Music is life, Music is an epiphany, Music puts me in a trance, I start and end everyday listening to the right vibe of music, Music depicts my mood, Music motivates me, Music tells tales, Music is dynamic, Music is BRYMO.
The ex Chocolate City signee went from mainstream to under ground in a matter of months without giving his overzealous fans a reason for his departure. Chocolate City has always had their eyes for beautiful pieces from the likes of Jesse Jagz, M.I and Nosa to mention a few.
The act who has 4 classic albums (Brymstone 2007, SonOfAKapenter 2011, Merchant Dealer and Slaves 2013, Tabula Rasa 2014) to his name has never been an elite in the Nigerian music scene because of the nation’s love for mediocrity. The society has confined us to the everyday music which revolves around Wizkid, Olamide, Davido and the rest.
A perfect genre cannot classify this maestro as he is dynamic in everything he does. I find it hard to believe he isn’t an A-lister yet. Olawale ‘Brymo’ Ashimi has been under-rated for too long.
Music is more psychological than you think , it affects your brain and attitude. It simply means if you spend more of your time listening to noise, you end up acting like noise (garbage in, garbage out) if you listen to positive music, your mind will mostly digest the positives and one of the men with the conscious/positive vibe is Brymo.
Brymo who has had a fair share of success is becoming a myth everyday as conscious music lovers are observing less of him in the scene.
Einstein propounded the law of relativity stating the possibility of infinite parallel multiverse showing multiple universes and also explaining why there will be thousands of ‘You’ living. My main question is wherever he finds himself; will BRYMO EVER GET TO PROMISELAND ?

I have never drop any comment on this platform for the past four year I have been following this net but for brymo, I want to announce that this guy is a music genius. I don't know him anywhere but he is one of the best music artist that gives me hope in Nigerian music industry. Brymo is best served when alone and the mind is not so busy!
