More international personalities are showing their support to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
Globally celebrated education activist Malala Yousafzai last weekend addressed the current abduction crisis rocking Nigeria where over 200 schoolgirls have been missing since April 14.
‘Malala and the Malala Fund are calling on Nigeria and the international community to take urgent action to ensure more than 200 kidnapped Nigerian school girls are freed‘, a statement on her blog was published on May 3, 2014.
The schoolgirls were abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect. Boko Haram does not believe in Western Education. Malala, 16, has faced similar problems in Pakistan. She was almost assassinated by members of terrorist group Taliban, for propagating the agenda that females should also be educated.
In related news, US Senator and former FLOTUS, Hilary Clinton has also lent her voice in support of #BrignBackOurGirls. On Twitter she wrote ‘Access to education is a basic right & an unconscionable reason to target innocent girls. We must stand up to terrorism‘, followed by the hashtag.
