Nigeria’s longest-running award show, The Headies, has released the nomination list for this year’s Next Rated category.
The category, which is one of the categories with the most buzz during the event every year, has become a way to predict rising artistes who would become music stars in the industry.
For this year, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Zinoleesky, Lojay, and Ruga have been selected for the category.
The winner of this category will be rewarded with a 2022 Bentley Bentayga worth over ₦75 million.
Last year’s winner Omah Lay who was nominated alongside artistes like Tems, Oxlade and Bella Shmurda, received a GAC SUV.
Headies 2022 will be held outside Nigeria for the first time since its inception. The award show will hold at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Atlanta, in September 2022.
