The second Nigerian version of the reality show Big Brother started yesterday. Big Brother Naija as the name implies, is a Nigerian spinoff of the global series. However apart from the cast and the host Ebuka, there are appears to be nothing Nigerian about the show: it is set in Johannesburg, South Africa.
That has not gone down well with many Nigerian fans who feel that holding it in South Africa defeats the whole point of it being a ‘Nigerian’ show.

Many others feel it shouldn’t be a problem because a Nigeria simply lacks the infrastructure and capacity to produce such a show locally.
