The Super Eagles of Nigeria continue their quest for continental glory as they take on the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the quarter-finals of the African Nations Cup (2019 AFCON) today. The Super Eagles secured a place in the quarter-finals by knocking out favourite and defending champion Cameroon in the round of 16, while South Africa booked a place in the quarter-finals after defeating host Egypt in what has been considered as one of the biggest upsets in AFCON history.
Both teams will now face-off for a place in the semi-final of the competition. It is important to note that Nigeria has not failed to make it to the semi-final of six out of eight last editions it participated in 2000,2002,2004,2006,2010,2013, South Africa has only made it to the semi-final twice 1996 and 1998.
