US cable network Black Entertainment Television (BET) has banned the rapper Nicki Minaj’s latest video ‘Stupid hoe’.
According to a rep for the Viacom-owned channel, the video received the ban because it is too explicit for the network.
The video directed by the legendary music video director Hype Williams was released on January 20, 2012 via Minaj’s YouTube account and broke a VEVO record of 4.8 million views in an hour. ‘Stupid hoe’ is a single from her second studio album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
The 3 minute, thirty seconds video however has been receiving negative reviews as viewers have expressed their dislike for the content Minaj portrays .
On her YouTube page, the video registered 152,772 likes but 322,631 dislikes. Neither Minaj nor her management have commented on the matter.
