Nigerian entertainment mogul and former Director General of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Ben Murray-Bruce has secured the senatorial ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State.
Bruce, who once declared his intention to contest the governorship election in Bayesla State, became the ruling party’s candidate for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District during the primaries held yesterday. Ben Bruce got 138 votes to beat Anthony Ikoli (SAN) who got 11 votes and Nelson Belief who could only come up with 2 votes.
Ben Bruce made a name for himself as the brain behind the hugely successful Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and has since followed up with a multimillion naira media/entertainment empire including Rhythm FM network, Silverbird TV network, Silverbird Cinemas and others.
