At the media briefing for the BBNaija Level Up season, the organisers promised twists and shocks following the season’s premiere, and Big Brother indeed delivered from the very first night.
As the show ends in a matter of hours, here are some twists in the Level Up house that have shocked housemates and viewers alike.

Level 1 and 2 Dynamics
When we saw the BBNaija house on the first night, there was almost a panic about how 23 housemates were supposed to fit into the small house. To the shock of the viewers and housemates, we all found out that the housemates would be split into levels, and they would be competing against each other for the meantime. This twist did not only ramp up the intensity of the show, but it made for some perfectly played inter-level drama.

Amaka’s Unexpected Eviction
After the regular Head of House games, the housemates were expected to pick two housemates to be up for possible eviction. In a twist of events, Big Brother asked them to nominate two housemates for immediate eviction instead. Due to this twist, Amaka was evicted from the BBNaija house.

Level 3 and Big Brother’s House Guests
After Chomzy, Eloswag and Doyin were evicted, they moved to a new level: level 3, a house that made them Big Brother’s guests following their eviction. Although they were still allowed to play sponsored tasks and even win the prizes therein, they could no longer play to win the grand prize. A week after this twist, their visit to Big Brother’s house ended.

Supreme Veto Power
In every BBNaija season, housemates who win the HoH games are entitled to the veto power to save a housemate from possible eviction. However, for the Level Up season, Big Brother had given the penultimate Hoh, Chichi, the Supreme Veto Power, a power that allows her to choose two other housemates to make it to the finals with her. After a pitch from all the housemates, she chose Daniella and Phyna.

Riders
BBNaija is not new to fake housemates and wildcards, but this season’s riders have a different arrangement. The riders of the Level Up season, Chizzy and Rachel, came in two weeks after the show had started, and they were to stay in the house till the last day even though they could not win the grand prize.
