For those of us who are BBNaija fans, we understand the importance of ‘content’. The entire show thrives on BBNaija housemates providing premium content to fans of the show.
From the Lockdown edition to the Shine Ya Eye season, we’ve noticed the recurring sequence of housemates promising entertainment, fun, and vibes to fans on stage, but delivering minimally on those promises when they get into the house.
Check out some expectations we had from the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye housemates and the present reality.
Saskay
What she promised: She promised us content, premium vibes and drama.
What we got: We honestly haven’t seen up to 5% of the premium content she promised. And the 5% is majorly for the pretty faces she makes on the dance floor.
JayPaul
What he promised:We had such high expectations, especially when we learnt he got very close to getting into the show last season. JayPaul told us, “if he was Big Brother for a day, he would probably tell everyone to get naked”.
What we got: Let’s just say the only thing that’s gotten naked is the weight of our expectations.
Yousef
What he promised: Yousef told us his strategy was to crack up the house with laughter.
What we got: He has barely made anyone chuckle. Word on the streets is that he’s barely spoken five words since he got into the house. Even the ‘Zee-world-like content’ we thought we’d be seeing is still MIA.
Liquorose
What she promised: In her words, “there are levels to the streets”, and she can be dramatic even without realizing it. She promised to spice up the house with some street vibes.
What we got: So how did we get here? This love-struck Liquorose isn’t what we ordered! The streets are in shambles.
Emmanuel
What he promised: Emmanuel promised us a little love, a little drama. He said he’s here to socialize and bond.
What we got: Well, if by socializing he meant staying in bed all day with Liquorose, then he’s delivered no? As for the drama? LOL.
Jackie B
What she promised: Jackie B said she’s a lone wolf who is direct and blunt. She promised to shake things up in Biggie’s house.
What we got: We’ve seen a little of that directness plus some ‘Mummy GO’ vibes, but what we didn’t expect is the full-on vixen she became after ‘Michael the Hottie’ came into Biggie’s house.
Pere
What he promised: Pere promised to be dramatic, smart, open, and friendly.
What we got: Love him or hate him, he has given us drama. From getting in petty fights with the girls to becoming General Pere, and giving WhiteMoney a leave of absence from the kitchen, the 36-year-old has not failed to deliver on the content he promised.
WhiteMoney
What he promised: WhiteMoney told us he’s the spice with no dull moments. He also told us he’ll be showcasing his outfits, and he can never be caught fighting for food and chores.
What we got: So far, he’s lived up to his promises and kept the housemates well fed while at it. He’s also earned himself two powerful enemies in the house (hello Pere and Maria). And those outfits? He’s surely doing our Igbo brothers proud!
Maria
What she promised: She is in the house to spice things up by “making all the guys fall in love with her. She also believes that she can be confrontational sometimes.
What we got: From playing a damn good game as a wildcard to “peppering’ everyone in the house, Maria has served us content! She has also found and now controls Pere’s ‘mumu’ button – or so she thinks. Either way, she’s a strong contender for Queen of Highlights this season.
Angel
What she promised: The 21-year-old told us “what you give is what you get”. In her words, she’s in the house to have fun and simply be herself.
What we got: From her scandalous fits to her bold actions and IDGAF behaviour, we are big fans of all that she has brought to this season of BBNaija.
Peace
What she promised: Peace told us she’s moving into the house to have fun and make new friends, and hopes to spice things up by having the right gist for everyone, including the viewers.
What we got: It’s safe to say that Peace is the “secret Biggie” among the housemates. She constantly supplies gist to her circle and the viewers, and she literally has an idea about everyone’s ‘situationship’. Good to know she’s working with her strategy.
Boma
What he promised: Boma already warned us he was coming into the house with no strategies,
What we got: And you can see it in his game plan. So far, the only content he’s given us is his petty fights with the girls, carrying HOH on his head, and screaming, “I’m not your mate”!
Queen
What she promised: Queen told us from the start that she will come into the house with her jovial personality. Also, she wouldn’t be getting along with cunning and entitled people.
What we got: …and she’s been doing just that in the house. The rift that happened between her and Maria proves it. We are here for all the commotion she’s causing.
