It’s that season again. The official countdown to what is unarguably the biggest reality TV show out of Africa – Big Brother Naija has begun. And as has been the ritual these past few years, the housemates of the previous season are reuniting to look back at their stay in the BBNaija house and get all the things they weren’t able to say to each other off their chest.
What kind of pepper are you?
This past week, the ‘Pepper Dem’ housemates sat down with host Ebuka to talk about everything including the kind of pepper each of them thought they served in the house. Their responses ranged from blended pepper to tatashe, atarodo, Venitatashe, and cameroon pepper.
Audition stories
They also recounted their various auditions. Mercy who had to audition four consecutive times said she didn’t give up because she knew she was a winner. Avala didn’t expect she’d be picked, Kim Oprah almost fainted at the audition. Tacha whose audition queue video went viral thanks to mischief-makers on the internet revealed she wasn’t picked on the first day but she tried a second time and got lucky. She also saw the viral video as a plot twist, as the people who made mockery of her ended up watching her on the show.
Who didn’t belong?
When Ebuka asked the housemates the people they thought had no business being in the house, names like Esther, Jackye, Diane, Thelma, Cindy, Sir dee made top of the list for most of the housemates.
Seyi said he felt like Diane always hid in the shadows and really didn’t have any business in Biggie’s house.
Tacha’s comparison with Tboss and CeeC
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard it. During their time in the house, a lot of viewers swore she thoroughly studied the Tboss-CeeC handbook before getting into the house but according to Tacha, that is not the case. In her words, “I’m too original to want to act like anybody. I think people just generally have a problem with confident people and outspoken people.”
Still on comparisons…
Ebuka asked Omashola about playing the Efe card. His “humility” and unfailing quickness to remind everyone he is from Warri made a lot of us go, “oh! another Efe!”
Omashola however denied this. “I never watched BBNaija ever to have known what Efe was playing,” he said. “I was being myself in the house. I’m a nice guy, I’m a cool guy.” He went on to say his coolant happy demeanor only changed after Ike stole his coin.
What happens in the diary room
A few of the housemates weren’t fans of Khafi’s diary room sessions and they had no problem voicing their feelings about it. Jackye called her the Parrot Party and said she used the diary session to smear other housemates images. Venita corroborated this claim saying Khafi is two-faced, “she can be one person now and another the next minute.” As Khafi wasn’t around to defend herself, Ebuka moved on to another topic.
Bragging and the Kimoprah-Tacha showdown
One of the major highlights of this drama-packed week was the showdown between Kimoprah and Tacha. Ebuka had asked them who bragged the most in the house and Kim who had obviously been waiting for this moment said Tacha. According to her, Tacha bragged a lot but couldn’t back up her bragging. She said Tacha intentionally put people down to feel better about herself. She particularly had a problem with Tacha constantly saying she was The Show and that the rest of the housemates escorted her to the house.
Tacha wasn’t having it. She told Kimoprah she needed to fix her insecurities. And Kim retaliated by reminding her she was disqualified from the show.
The BBNaija Pepper Dem Reunion continues this week, and going by what we saw last week, things are about to get a lot crazier. You don’t want to miss it!
