The Ruby housemates have set their upcoming wedding in motion. On Tuesday, amidst colour and fanfare Ruby groom Oneal visited Feza’s parental home to officially ask for her hand in marriage.
Accompanied by his uncles Elikem and Angelo, Oneal donned a colourful African traditional princely attire for the introduction ceremony. Back at the house, bride-to-be Feza was filled with excitement as her sister Fatima, mother Natasha and Aunt Annabel put the finishing touches on her dowry costume.
At the dowry negotiations, the bride’s father Sulu showed up drunk but proceeded to remind his in-laws how precious his daughter is. After much deliberation on the bride price, both families agreed that Oneal’family needs to show up with carrots, corn flakes, cooking oil, cheese and lots of alcohol.
An excited Feza later said, ‘If I get married to Oneal one day, I want to wear the traditional Nguni hat, because Oneal is from Botswana. Wow, this feel’s so real’.
