The third edition of the City People Entertainment Awards is set to host a great number of entertainers at the HNK Event Centre on Admiralty Road in Lekki, Lagos on Sunday, August 7, 2011.
This year’s edition will be anchored by comedians, Gbenga Adeyinka The 1st and Julius D’ Genius Agwu. This year’s event will be celebrating the lives of fallen entertainers: Fuji maestro Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Stand-up CD John, model/TV Chidima Nwalaso, Movie producer Alaasari and Nollywood actor Ashley Nwosu.
According to the Publisher of City People magazine, Dr. Seye Kehinde, ‘City people entertainment award has definitely come to stay and the beauty of it is the fact that it is an award ceremony that embraces everything in showbiz. Our aim is to honour those that have done well in the past one year and in the past two editions we did not fail and we won’t fail this time around. Last year we had a large turnout. It was beyond our expectation and this year will not be a difference, so we are prepared for it. We have called for entries and very optimistic this year’s award will blow people’s mind. We are still working on a lot of things but soon as we are able to conclude on everything we will unveil our plans for the award ceremony’.
Artistes lined up for this year’s event are; Mo’Cheedah, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Sound Sultan, Maheeda and Chocolate City All Stars. Others are Ruggedman, Kaffy, Sheyman, Olamide, Sexy Steel, Jahbless, Pasuma, 2Shot, Goldie, Kennis Music All stars and Tiwa Savage.

The maiden edition of the event was held at the Ogun State’s Governor’s House in Abeokuta and was hosted by the former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Sunday, June 14, 2009.
Late rap icon, Olaitan Olanipekun a.k.a Dagrin was honoured at the second edition of the event, held at the 10 Degree event centre in Oregun, Lagos on Friday, June 18, 2010.

Most of the time,awards when it comes to music in nigeria is all centered on lagos.l mean the artists that are nominated.& this one is following suet.l want to know,is lagos artists the only artist we have that are good for awards?
