After battling with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for close to a year in court over a N25m compensation fee, a court of appeal in Lagos has ordered the agency not to pay Babatunde Omidina, better known as Baba Suwe.
The judgement was made today, May 31, 2013 ruling out an earlier judgement made by the Ikeja High Court after it was established (with the help of his counsel Bamidele Aturu), that the actor was detained more than the required time after the agency accused him of allegedly swallowing ‘large amounts of drugs’ in his body.
It is reported that Aturu will appeal the ruling.
Baba Suwe was arrested at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, on his way to Paris, France to attend a naming ceremony of an Air France staff scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2011.
