Baba Dee and Goldie In War Of Words

As the day goes by, Social Networking site Twitter has somehow turned into a battleground for celebrities and pop culture players in general. If it’s not Amber Rose attacking a fellow model, its Fabolous and Soulja Boy having a go at each other.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, everything was going normal until veteran Nigerian musician Dare Fasasi better known as Baba Dee took to his twitter account to express his dissatisfaction with popular R&B singer Goldie Harvey.

Apparently, Baba Dee had his own opinion on Goldie’s career and wasn’t afraid to share it.

‘This Goldie girl should stop singing’, Baba Dee’s tweet read (He tweeted from his official handle @BabaDeeDare).

Goldie who is an ardent user of the microblogging site immediately responded to the comment by pointing out the fact that Baba Dee had not released a hit single in over a decade:

‘BabaDeeDare Lmao! A lot of pps think u should stop singing 2 or is it rap u do sef. I can start helping u mention names. BIG industry names’, her first reply read. It got worse as Goldie gave the veteran musician a wash down.

‘why shd u quit wat u luv doing just bcus of odr peopls opinion?Did u come 2 this world becuz of them? NO! U came 2 lyf 4 urself’.

‘With all due respect.An artiste who hasn’t had a single radio hit since 2000( over 11yrs ago) shldnt be heard tryna put odr artistes down’.

‘2 enjoy urself n be who u want 2b. So, no1 shd put u down. No1 CAN put me down either. MUSIC is my passion. I do it till I kpai’.

Baba Dee might have been trying to express himself by saying Goldie might have been working too hard to push her career but certainly got off the wrong foot trying to do so, as Goldie felt rather insulted by the remark. And his tweets later, suggest he didn’t anticipate the venom that came from Goldie – who could have missed the tweet, had a Baba Dee follower not copied her on it…
