Atletico Madrid advanced to the quarter final stage of the Copa del Rey tournament on Thursday, January 15 at the expense of their illustrious city rivals, Real Madrid.
The second leg of the tie between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid saw Atletico bith sides settling for a 2 – 2 draw after the Diego Simeone-led side had handed Real Madrid a 2 – 0 defeat in the first leg.
The goals came for Atletico Madrid through former Chelsea striker, Fernando Torres, who scored in the 1st and 46th minutes while Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo bagged the goals in the 20th and 54th minutes respectively for Real Madrid.
