The fourth consecutive edition of the Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) is barely four weeks away. The event, which has grown steadily to become one of the most credible awards in the country, promises to be one to remember. This year’s event will be held at the New Exhibition Hall, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos on Thursday, 28th November and plans are underway to make this event a world-class one.
Past editions of the NMVA have courted rave reviews from different sectors, most notable the NAFDAC seal of approval. Earlier in the year, NAFDAC Director General and showbiz enthusiast, Mr. Paul Orhii lauded the event as ‘a ‘truly Nigerian’ brand, deserving of all the support it receives.’
The NMVA exemplifies the point that artistes and video directors as well as producers can share the glory side by side on the same stage as witnessed at the very successful 2009 edition. Artistes like H-Man, Jaywon and MC-Loph, who were relatively unknown before the awards, were brought to the fore by the NMVA owing to their well-produced videos. Also, more light was shone on the innovative work of new directors like Mex, Gbenga Salu, Sesan Ogunro, Wudi Awa and Bobby Hai.
In a show of commitment to transparency, NMA organizers have taken a hard-line against lobbyists warning them to remain at bay as only deserving videos will be duly honoured. Canvassing for votes is already on the way and award nominees have started reaching out to their fans to vote on the award’s website, www.livebeats.net.

Your grievances should probably be taken up with the organizers as this is the same nominees list a number of other sites put up…they are the ones that come up with these things…
but good lookin' out tho..
@ Seun, I think you're mixing things up. Wudi Awa is not listed here in the 'New Director' category. Gini and not Gino is a new director. And yes you're right, Wudi Awa diredted the video for Gino's(artiste) video 'No Be God'.
please take ur time to look through the nominees list properly before commenting Wudi Awa has never been listed amongst New Directors for the NMVA's …if there was a mix up along the line i trust thenetng guys will be quick to correct that! cheers y'all!!!
Its rlly amazin dat psquare werent nominated 4 notin..dis is nt d first its bn done.i tink nigerians r being biased..psquare remains d best in music videos no doubt!!
when it commes to videos no doubt the boiz are trail blazers but dont forget that an artiste or his management must give their consent for their videos to be judged by sending in their entries there was a massive campaign for artiste's who deemed their works good enough to compete to do so …in a situation where Psquare's videos weren't entered what were the organizers supposed to do? meanwhile entries entails filling and submitting forms that contain vital information such as: name of director, camera specification, location etc downloadable on the official website. Could it be that they were too big or busy to enter their videos????? hmmmmm food for thought!! thanks for your observation though
