The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State has once again been thrown into mourning following death of a lecturer in the Department of Management and Accounting, Wasiu Olayiwola Akande, fondly called ‘Bora’,
Akande passed on in his house yesterday after he was discharged from hospital where he had been admitted following a brief illness.
He was 44 years old and is survived by a wife and two kids.
Last year, the prestigious citadel of learning lost two prominent lecturers, Prof. Solomon Ogunniyi and Prof. Foluke Ogunleye to the cold hands of death.
Prof. Ogunniyi, who was a lecturer at the Department of Medicine, was found dead in his office on November 5, while Prof. Ogunleye of the Department of Dramatic Arts lost her life in a tragic automobile accident on Boxing Day, December 26, 2015.
