World’s No 3 and British Tennis star, Andy Murray is the proud winner of the 2015 Mutua Madrilena Madrid Open tournament which took place in Spain on Sunday, May 10, 2015.
Murray, who is yet to lose a match since getting married to Kim Sears last month, defeated the defending champion and World’s No. 4, Rafael Nadal in two straight sets of 6-3, 6-2 to claim the title.
Speaking after the winning the tournament, Andy hinted that his marital status played a positive part in his victory.
‘I have always said that when your private life is under control and you are happy, it helps you on court. Also, I haven’t been in this good physical shape on the clay in the last couple of years, so I owe a big thanks to my team.
‘I played a very good match and made very few errors, I changed the height of the ball extremely well and that’s a reason why he was mis-hitting some of his shots. I dealt with the nervy moments pretty well too.’ He added.
The Scot star, who has been on a nine match winning streak since his wedding, also signed the on court camera after the victory, saying ‘Marriage works’.
