Late iconic Nollywood writer, producer and director, Amaka Igwe has been honored with the 2015 AMVCA Industry Merit Award at the ongoing ceremony in Lagos today, March 6, 2015.
Presenting the award, another industry veteran, who got his major break on Amaka’s Checkmates, Richard Mofe Damijo paid tribute to her and celebrated her as a pioneer contributor to filmmaking in Nigeria.
Collecting the award on behalf of his late wife, Charles Igwe said all his wife ever wanted to do was to give her best. He thanked everyone for acknowledging that she did give her best.
