For the first time on Canadian cable television, African and Afro-Canadian audiences will be able to enjoy unique African TV content.
In April 2012, African Movies and Entertainment Television, AMET TV in cooperation with Channel Zero, an independent Canadian broadcaster will be beaming African movies, drama-series and entertainment programming to Canadians ‘who have long been neglected as consumer audiences’.
‘It is important to showcase Africa for all of its positive contributions to the world in music, films, arts and culture. AMET TV in co-operation with Channel Zero is bringing African content that is in high demand on Canadian television‘, says Kunle Oyegbola, President of Afromedia Communications Inc.
‘Now there is an accessible outlet to showcase great African films, drama series and music videos for an established growing African, Caribbean Canadian population to enjoy‘, he further adds.
Afromedia Communications Inc. is a multi-faceted media company established in 2008, and headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
The company secured CRTC broadcasting licences in November, 2009, to operate African Movies and Entertainment Television (AMET TV) nationwide, and has since partnered with Channel Zero to bring AMET TV to life.
