Mixed martial arts fighter, Rondel Clark, has died three days after being knocked out by Ryan Dunn on Saturday night in the third round of a Cage Titans 35 fight in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
It was only the welterweight fighter’s second match, having won his debut fight via a 25-second knockout back in June.
His death is now under investigation according to Plymouth County DA, Timothy Cruz.
Clark was 26 years old.
According to the official report by Cruz, ‘The match was stopped after approximately two minutes into the third round and ruled a technical knockout.’
He added, ‘Post-fight examination of Clark resulted in his being transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was then transferred to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he died.’
Reports also says the person who observed Clark’s match noticed he was dominant in the first two rounds of the fight before a sudden change in behaviour and expression.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of Clark’s death.
