It has been revealed that American/Senegalese singer, Akon who was in Kenya last week for his ‘Lighting Africa project’ meant to support the government’s initiative to light up Kibera and other rural areas, has promised to start a mentorship programme that will link upcoming artistes with international musicians.
According to a recent report, Director of digital communication in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi disclosed
‘They discussed how to start a mentorship programme for upcoming artistes and how to link them up to international stars. Akon promised Jomo that he would return by end of the year.’
According to the plan, the platform will see artistes boost up their music globally.
