Just days after Floyd Mayweather won the richest bout worth about $400m against Manny Pacquiao, his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris, is suing him for defamation and wants $20m for damages.
It could be recalled that the incident occurred in September 2010, where Mayweather was accused of domestic violence but denied the claims saying he only held Harris, who is the mother of three of his four children back, because she was on drugs.
But in a recent interview with Yahoo, Josie Harris has come out to say the undefeated champion lied about the domestic violence and has filed a lawsuit claiming damages for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Los Angeles County.
Meanwhile, 14 months after the incident in 2010, Mayweather, who was arrested and pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of misdemeanour and battery and two counts of harassment, was sentenced to three months in prison.
In regard to the Harris’s claim, Floyd Mayweather and his reps are yet to respond.
