The Zambian Football Association (FAZ) has officially given back the Africa Cup of Nations trophy to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
According to the FAZ general secretary George Kasenglee, the AFCON trophy would leave Football House on Wednesday (yesterday), to be handed back to CAF in Johannesburg.
Kasenglee said it will be a very emotional moment giving back the trophy which they had already gotten used to; ‘it is a proof of our incredible feat for last year, the trophy should invigorate and re-energise our resolve to bring it back to Zambia for a further two years‘.
The ‘Chipolopolo’ coach Herve Renard assures Zambia that they will do their best to ensure the trophy returns to the country, by winning the AFCON 2013.
