1. Basketmouth

The comedian lost his mum on October 4, 2016, about a month after he was robbed at gunpoint in his Lekki home.
2. Bovi

Bovi‘s mother passed on in January, aged 58. She was laid to rest on Saturday, March 12 at Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area Delta State.
3. Papi Luwe

The Yoruba actor’s first son Sunkanmi Omobolanle – who is also popular in Nollywood, confirmed the news to TheNETng saying, ‘Mama is dead. She died of natural causes. She wasn’t ill. She just slept and didn’t wake up.’
The deceased, Omonike Omobolanle, aged 85, was buried in Oyo State.
4. Chika Ike

Nollywood actress, Chika Ike lost her mum in April.
Then she shared on IG: ‘RIP Mum. Saying I am going to miss you is an understatement, I can’t still believe you are gone. I sit here wondering if I’m in a dream and waiting for someone to pinch me . You thought me how to be strong, giving, loyal, compassionate and driven. You told me that there is nothing impossible to do. You made me the woman I am today. I am most grateful to you. I will miss you greatly . I know you are watching over me and you will always live on. Love you mum.’
5. Mike Okri

The singer’s late mother Mary Onojighodame Okri died on May 1, 2016 at the age of 89 in Delta State.
6. Tonia Ferrari Okoro

The rising Nollywood actress’ Cameroonian mother was pronounced dead at the General Hospital Ikeja, Lagos State in January.
7. Sunny Melody

The mother of the UK-based juju musician died at 12 noon on September 15, 2016 in Abeokuta, Ogun State after a brief illness.
She was aged 70.
