We all know that Christmas is usually everyone’s favourite time of year. It’s a day we all look forward to, just like our birthdays.
So what happens when you don’t get to celebrate your birthday properly because you were (un)lucky enough to share the same birthdate with the sweet Jesus?
Here are a few things that’ll make you go ‘oh shit, that’s me!’
1. Your birthday is easily forgotten
Everyone’s so caught up with the season they forget it’s supposed to be your birthday too. Sad.
2. You probably won’t get any special treatment on that day

Face it, you’re not Jesus. He’s the only reason we’re this excited.
3. People always have a passionate reaction when you tell them your birthdate
Either they express too much excitement at the thought of having to share a birthday with Jesus, or they pity you because they know how it’ll be less about you and more about you-know-who.
4. Your friends might not be available to hang out

Well, everyone’s caught up with their own family celebrations, no one has time to come hang out with you and celebrate your birthday.
5. People give you joint gifts to mark both occasions
While some people spend the whole year looking forward to receiving gifts twice, you get just one. How awful!
6. You get invited to come party with other people when it should be your day

Like hello? It’s my birthday, I should be the one inviting you out here.
7. It sucks that you have to buy gifts for people

What is worse than having to get Christmas gifts for friends on your own birthday?
It feels less and less like your birthday as the years go by, and slowly you stop looking forward to it.
8. Thankfully you get the day off work

There’s just one good that comes from the day: knowing that the decision to stay or get up from bed is all in your hands. That way, you can cry away your sorrows from the comfort of your own bed and house.
