However, there are still certain duets we are hoping for. Here are 7 of such anticipated collaborations….
2face and Asa
No doubt, these musicians are 2 of the most talented acts Nigeria has been blessed with in recent times. Their style of music has broken boundaries and they are both recognised beyond the shores of Nigeria. It will be a great pleasure having Asa and 2face on a track together. The duo also has something in common. They have both been featured in the past by Alapomeji Ancestral Records boss, 9ice.2face and Wande Coal

Recently, 2face tweeted that Black Diamond, Wande Coal was his favourite Nigerian act at the moment. This statement sprang up conversations on social media with many requesting that both acts record a song together. Just in case Annie Idibia’s hubby missed all the requests, this writer is making a call on behalf of Nigerian music lovers. Bless us with a collabo 2baba and Wande.
Davido and Wizkid

This is unarguably the most anticipated collaboration in recent times. For years unending, there has been a professional rivalry between these talented music acts. Although, they keep coming out to claim they have a cool relationship, every ardent music fan knows better. Now, they have a lot of things in common which includes owning their own labels (HKN and Starboy), having kids with baby mamas, brand ambassadors for top Telco firms among others but we just can’t simply wait for a collaborative effort. There was also a recent rumour that they are both intend cooking up something together. We hope it drops before September which is marked for both acts’ album release.
Seun Kuti and Asa

Recently, Seun Kuti and Asa met in London after a performance at the Bonneville festival and it reminded us how they both stand out as 2 of Nigeria’s most professional acts. With Asa playing genres such as jazz, soul and Afrobeat, we just hope these duo will find a place in their heart to hit the studio together. Now this is an appeal.
Don Jazzy and Asa

Reading from the beginning, you must have observed that this writer is a fan of Asa. Yes I am an ardent fan and I am not apologetic for that. In July Asa was sighted at the SMD headquarters and I immediately had butterflies in my stomach. What would a Don Jazzy and Asa collaboration sound like. This track must drop before I die. Please Don baba j, let Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and all the others stay out of this. We simply want a pure classic devoid of …
Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage

2015 MAMA Best Female, Yemi Alade and the winner of the 2014 edition, Tiwa Savage are obviously 2 of the most successful female acts that have blessed the contemporary music industry. Despite, being away for the last couple of months to focus on the delivery of her son, Tiwa remained on the lips of music lovers. However, why she was away, Effizie Music act, Yemi Alade kept the industry buzzing with different hits which even Tiwa was proud of. Now, we hope that as the Mavin queen is getting geared to return to her craft, one of the first things she had consider is a collaboration with the Johnny singer whom she predicted was going to win the MAMA crown this year.
Femi Kuti and Lagbaja

I might be a musical infidel who do not understand the spirituality of the game but even in my state, I silently nurse the hope of listening to these 2 legends bless us with a collaboration someday. Even if we don’t deserve it, they atleast owe it to Fela who created the genre they have both mastered brilliantly. Now I will say no more and pray this happens soon.
