A music video is key and is the next big deal after having a track good enough to catch the minds of the masses. But a bad music video might actually reduce the buzz around your hit track instead of improving the steam.
Here we present you with 5 viral songs whose videos fail to impress…
Gabriel Afolayan – ‘Awelewa’
The video was shot in Seychelles, featuring some light skinned, hot babes who do not seem to know how essential the word, ‘Awelewa’ is to ladies somewhere in Ibadan or Isale Eko.
Wizkid – ‘Ojuelegba’
The video didn’t give us the real story of that ‘Surulere boy’ struggling on the street despite the song being arguably the best song by Wizzy even if he doesn’t think so.
Kiss Daniel – ‘Woju remix’ feat. Tiwa Savage and Davido
Yeah, the song went viral, even though the remix, featuring Tiwa Savage and Davido didn’t live up to expectation according to many music lovers. One of the reasons it is deemed to fall below the required standard is there is no scene capturing Kiss Daniel and his 2 superstars friends together on the song.
‘Dance Go’ featuring 2face and Wizkid
This was good, but below standard. The story was rather too long and tiring, considering the fact that it’s a music video not a movie thriller.
The real steam of the song got lost in the video, because the Nigerian-composed song got its video shot in South Africa, thus lacking the vigour and creativity of a Nigerian setting and the many factors the song plays at.
