The biggest night in music is around the corner, January 28, 2018, to be exact. This 60th edition of the Grammys will take place in New York City and the Recording Academy has already released the official list of performers. Everyone from Lady Gaga to Patti LuPone will be gracing the Grammy stage at Madison Square Garden. While we cannot wait to see what the expected performers have prepared for us, we are sure that in true Grammy fashion there will be one or two surprise performances. Here are some artistes whose surprise performances would make the award night even more stellar for us.
5. Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Future
Tay Swizzle made her fans very happy when she unexpectedly dropped a new single, ‘End Game’, and an accompanying music video from her commercially successful sixth studio album, ‘Reputation’. The song which features rapper, Future and British singer, Ed Sheeran, is already making its way up the charts. Apart from the fact that it would be phenomenal to see these three artistes on the Grammy stage, it would be the perfect tease for all those who are still deciding whether or not they want to buy tickets to Taylor’s upcoming Reputation Stadium Tour.
4. Justin Timberlake
While we are sure that JT is busy preparing for an explosive Superbowl Halftime performance and a conceptual tour, we would not mind seeing him own the Grammy night with his latest single, ‘Filthy’. Everyone knows how complete of an entertainer Justin is but we would not mind to be reminded one more time.
3. Camilla Cabello
Former 5H member, Camilla Cabello, stole the show at the EMAs last year with the stunning performance of her hit single, ‘Havana’. Every performance that Camilla has delivered last year has been phenomenally better than the last. Cabello’s debut album, ‘Camila’, which was released on January 12 could benefit greatly from a memorable Grammy performance.
2. Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé
This may be a long shot but we can dream, can’t we? Sheeran and Beyoncé’s magical collaboration, which was released on December 1, 2017, quickly became a playlist favourite and is still maintaining a steady spot on the charts. It would be a Grammy moment that we would not quickly forget.
1. Jay Z
The Carters ended our 2017 in a dramatic way when they dropped the music video for the confessional 4:44 album track, ‘Family Feud’. While a lot of people thought that seeing Blue Ivy in the music video was cringe worthy, the music video still revived our love for Jay-Z’s tell it all album. What would make this performance great? No one would see it coming. Except us, of course.
