Late Hollywood actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman, had 49 bags of heroin and more than 20 used syringes inside his Manhattan apartment when he died, reports say.
Authorities searching the fourth floor apartment reportedly recovered 49 containers of heroin, almost two dozen used syringes as well as anti-anxiety prescriptions in Hoffman’s apartment, the Daily Mail UK reports.
His estranged partner, Mimi O’Donnell, also confirmed the late actor’s struggles with drugs. O’Donnell told investigators that he appeared to be under the influence of drugs when she spoke to him again at about 8pm the day before he died.
The medical examiner is to perform an autopsy today to determine the cause of death. A drug overdose is strongly suspected.
