As the continent awaits some of the entertainment shows that wrap up the year, four cities are up to contest for the hosting rights of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The stage is set for the unveiling, as African Union Commission (AUC) joins AFRIMA organisers to announce which city; among Lagos, Calabar, Port Harcourt and Uyo, will host the show this year.
Recall that the two previous editions took place in Lagos, with the third edition scheduled to hold from November 4 to 6.
The vision of the competing cities will be to tap into the show to promote their tourism capabilities.
Organisers have however put security, infrastructure, facilities and appropriate venues as some of the parameters for the hosting right.
According to the AUC Commissioner for Social Affairs, Dr. Mustapha Sidi Kaloko, the main purpose of host city partnership is to shore up Africa’s image of a great continent imbued with unequalled tourist attractions, and also to showcase economic potential of cities in Africa.
In addition, associate producer of AFRIMA, Adenrele Niyi said transparency and fairness will be highly considered in the choice of the hosting city.
