2face, Seun Kuti, M.I, To Perform At SXSW 2012

For the very first time in 25 years, the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference will be showcasing African talents at the 2012 edition.

These African acts which include Nigerian artistes 2face, Seun Kuti, M.I, Naeto C and Bez have been scheduled to thrill the massive crowd at the Austin Convention Centre in Texas, from Thursday, March 15, 2012 to Friday, March 16, 2012.

‘On route tonight to Austin TX for south by southwest.. Shout out to Spinlet.. Choc boys on stage doing it..‘, Rapper M.I tweeted on Tuesday.

Made possible by digital media company SPINLET, this development will also see other African acts including Ghanaian rapper Blitz the Ambassador and the Kenyan Funk trio Just-A-Band rock the stage.

SXSW 2012 will showcase roughly 2,000 musical acts from around the globe, representing well over 50 different countries, on over 90 stages in downtown Austin.

 ‘It is a significant investment in some of the greatest contemporary talents out of the continent and you can be sure the Africans will rock the house’, Obi Asika, CEO Storm 360 says.
